According to the data of China Bus Statistical Information Network, in May this year, 19172 passenger cars with 5 meters or more were sold in China, an increase of 54.99% over the same period last year; in January-May this year, 61009 passenger cars with 5 meters or more were sold in China, an increase of 22.51% over the same period last year. Don't underestimate the 55% increase, which reverses the market downturn of nearly 30% in May last year compared with the same period last year. Actually, not only in May, but also from January to April this year, the sales of passenger car market increased year-on-year. However, the end of the transitional policy of new energy subsidies has accelerated the recovery of bus market. From the first five months of this year, the bus market has developed steadily and gradually returned to rationality.
So, in the field of subdivision, what are the characteristics of this year's bus market? What changes have taken place in the market structure?
From the point of view of market segmentation, the "power" of bus market growth this year comes from buses, while seated buses and school buses are still in the downward lane. Data show that in May, bus sales rose by 191.63%, seated bus sales dropped by 15.44% and school bus sales dropped by 33.2% compared with the same period last year. From January to May, 29,177 buses were sold, up 90.29% year-on-year; 25,169 seated buses were sold, down 6.72% year-on-year; and 5,847 school buses were sold, down 20.06% year-on-year.
Although the sales of passenger cars with seats are still declining year on year, the decline has narrowed significantly due to the revival of the new energy bus market, with a cumulative decrease of only 6.72%. However, due to the "inadequate care" of the subsidy policy, the decline rate of school buses is still relatively large, and its potential market space for millions of vehicles still needs to be expanded.
By contrast, buses can be said to be standing in the middle of the stage of the new energy bus market, which is illuminated by the subsidy policy. Benefiting from the eruption of "volcano" in the new energy bus market in May, the bus market share reached 64.76%, 35 percentage points higher than that of seated buses.
From the subdivision length, in May, the 8-9m model quickly increased, ranking among the best-selling models in the bus industry, while the 10m-11m model temporarily ranked second in the month with 473 weak disadvantage. Among them, 8-9m models sold 6381 cars in May and 5 908 cars in 10-11m models. Sales ranked No. 3 was 11-12 meters, with 2454 cars sold in May; No. 4 was 5-6 meters, with 1571 cars sold in May; No. 5 was 7-8 meters, with 1327 cars sold in May; No. 6 was 6-7 meters, with 742 cars sold in May; No. 7 and No. 8 were 9-10 meters and No. 12 meters above, respectively, with less than 500 cars sold.
However, in terms of cumulative sales, this year's best-selling sub-models are still 10-11 meters, while 8-9 meters are ranked second with a sales gap of 1500 vehicles.
From the enterprise point of view, in May, Yutong Bus Sales 7 599, ranked No. 1 in the industry; Zhongtong Bus Sales 1 303, ranked No. 2 in the industry; Xiamen Jinlong and Xiamen Jinlu, ranked No. 3 and No. 4 in the industry with 1 296 and 113, respectively; BYD ranked No. 5 in the industry, selling 849 passenger cars; Suzhou Jinlong followed closely, selling 800 passenger cars, ranked No. 6 in the industry. The companies ranked 7th to 10th are Ankai, Shanghai Shenlong, Dongfeng Xiangli and Nanjing Jinlong.
It is rare that Yutong Big Brother achieved 101% positive growth on the base of high sales in May last year, with a market share of 40.37%. From January to May, he sold 20221 vehicles, with a market share of 33.14%. The leading position of the bus market was further stabilized.
From the perspective of market structure, the traditional bus enterprises "two links, three dragons" and Ankai still occupy an important position in the top ten. Among them, Yutong occupies the dominant position in the industry with its far-ahead sales volume, while Ankai's position of No. 6 fluctuates slightly. Comparatively speaking, the positions of Zhongtong and Jinlong automobile Sanlong change frequently, sometimes Zhongtong takes the lead, sometimes Xiamen Jinlong or Xiamen Jinlu takes the lead. In addition, the more competitive enterprise is BYD. As a black horse enterprise focusing on new energy bus research and development, BYD's entry has stirred up the original "two links and three dragons" pattern. In May, BYD occupied the fifth place in the industry with 846 pure electric buses. From January to May, BYD sold 2797 passenger buses, ranking the seventh in the industry.
In addition to BYD, there are two black horse enterprises in the bus market in May this year, namely Shanghai Shenlong and Nanjing Jinlong. The two enterprises ranked among the top ten in the industry with the outstanding performance of the new energy bus market. Among them, 678 buses were sold in Shanghai Shenlong in May, up 374.13% from the same period last year; 629 buses were sold in Nanjing Jinlong, up 209.85% from the same period last year.
Judging from the cumulative sales from January to May, the top ten enterprises in the list are Yutong, Xiamen Jinlong, Xiamen Jinlu, Zhongtong, Suzhou Jinlong, Ankai, BYD, Dongfeng Xianglu, Dongfeng Chaolong and Beiqi Futian. (Source: Xinhua News Agency)
